Seeing Rest As God’s Gift

As difficult as it is for us to accept that God wants us to “Take It Easy”, we don’t seem to find it hard to believe that God wants us to struggle and fight to stay busy and occupied all the time. Nothing could be further from the truth. As we look at rest as a gift from God we can begin to see the importance of it in our recovery, in our personal lives and even in the workplace.

Setting Boundaries With Addicted Loved Ones

The purpose of setting boundaries with addicted loved ones is to identify the behavior that has been difficult or hurtful to the family-and put a stop to it. While you can’t control your loved one’s actions, you can control how you respond to them. When your boundaries are weak-or don’t exist at all-you compromise what makes you, you. Weak boundaries when a loved one is addicted, mean you will likely be lied to, cheated on, and stolen from. When you set boundaries with an addicted loved one, you increase the chances that he or she will seek help.

Instead, we attempt growing our relationship with God on religious terms when all the while God wants a relationship.
