From Pills to Praise

THE VICTORY REPORT  Teen Challenge of Arizona Stories of Victory

Clay was raised in a Christian home, but his curiosity and desire to break free from what he perceived as a strict upbringing led him to experiment with mind-altering substances. Opiate based pain medication was the drug of choice and it proved to work for a while. It gave him the confidence and false assurance that he was looking for but as it often does, it came up short. After an overwhelming call to reality, Clay entered the Teen Challenge program in Arizona. Now he and his wife Amber are thriving members of this powerful and effective recovery ministry. Clay is the Kitchen Coordinator for the Tucson Men’s Induction Center of Teen Challenge of Arizona. From Pills to Praise is Clay’s testimony of victory on this episode of the Victory Report. Step Twelve Revealed

THE TAKE 12 RECOVERY RADIO SHOW

Step Twelve states: “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.” We have been revealing each Step in order to bring us to this point in our life as members of our recovery communities. What is the real reason we were guided through the doors of recovery? Could it be we were misinformed as to the purpose for all this work?

Sponsorship, How Do Healthy People Handle Problems?

ABOUT THE SHOW: This week’s topic is SPONSORSHIP and, HOW DO HEALTHY PEOPLE HANDLE PROBLEMS? Accountability is not an easy word for addicts and alcoholics to learn or practice. But holding ourselves accountable to a Sponsor and allowing them to guide and direct our steps and walk through our journey of recovery is an important part of our returning back to sanity. Dave and Monty see this issue a bit differently in some respects, but the idea is still the same and it makes for an informative discussion that we all need to have sooner or later if we are going to recover. Closing Song: Rock Solid by Eden’s Way. Entitled to Overcome is a production of Take 12 Recovery Radio and KHLT Recovery Broadcasting.

From Shack to Center

Marla was dealing with acceptance and as the issues of life came her way, it was not an easy journey. Marla turned to substance abuse and relationship codependency. Realizing that the road she was on was leading to destruction, she wanted to stop using but found that left to her own devices, she was powerless. Marla needed a power that could move her from the destructive forces that sought to finish her, to successful living that unbeknownst to her, would put her in a position to be of maximum service to God and the people He put in her life. Marla needed Jesus. From Shack to Center is the story of Marla’s restoration to sanity and the work she now does as Intake Coordinator and Center Supervisor at the Adolescent Girl’s Home, Springboard Home for Youth in Tucson, Arizona. Springboard Home for Youth is part of the Teen Challenge of Arizona Network. www.tcaz.org
