Recovery In The Midst of a Politically Charged Climate

ABOUT THIS SHOW: In the midst of a politically charged climate how do we as a recovery community keep our sanity, our serenity and even our sobriety? So many people are allowing their emotions to dictate their behavior. As the recovery community we cannot afford to fall into the ranks of the emotionally dependent. We must maintain our emotional sobriety. One way is to practice rule 62 and not take life so seriously, but is that even realistic in these troubled times? Tune in and either be offended or maybe, just maybe, have a little fun.

The “WE” In Step One

ABOUT THIS SHOW: On this episode of Entitled to Overcome, Solutions for Life, Today, join CADC ll, Dave Fleming and the Monty’man as they discuss the importance of the “WE” in Step One. Some folks would have us believe that “WE” don’t need each other, only God. Others would say that God ordained us to be together and support each other. Is there a difference between becoming people dependent and God-dependent? Is there a danger here? Just what is the importance of the “WE” in our recovery?

COURT ORDERED RECOVERY

ABOUT THIS SHOW: If You have been convicted of an offense related to alcohol or drug abuse, don’t be surprised if you are court mandated to attend a recovery support group meeting or even an out-patient or residential treatment facility. Often well-meaning members of the recovery community will look down on court ordered men and women when they request to have their court slips signed at meetings. What is Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous policy when it comes to court slips and court ordered attendees to their meetings. And what about the treatment centers themselves? How should we treat those who are court ordered to our programs and fellowships?

Garbage In, Garbage Out

ABOUT THIS SHOW: Garbage In, Garbage Out is about staying clean and or Sober but little else. Are we in recovery to stop using our substance of choice or is there more to recovery than abstinence? We should not be surprised if the only thing that has changed is our drinking or using. Why be shocked when we relapse when sobriety does not pair with a program of recovery. Our life tree will bear fruit, but will it be rotten fruit or good fruit?
